At OCMA, sustainability is not only a focus in our architectural projects but also within our office culture. Since receiving the ISO 14001 certification in 2021, we have been actively promoting sustainability and environmental awareness throughout our operations.
Our dedicated environmental team organizes various activities throughout the year, including initiatives like ‘Veganuary’ and ‘No Mow May’. This year we got hands-on experience and education on global environmental issues.
The first activity, “Learn to Love Your Plants!”, brought our team together in the office and remotely in their own gardens to repot all office plants. We introduced new recycled pots that align with our updated office aesthetic, and a knowledgeable team member shared insights on plant care.
The second activity, “Lunch and Learn with Isabella Tree”, offered educational sessions where our Environmental team presented the concept of rewilding and its benefits for biodiversity, soil and water quality, and economic sustainability. We highlighted Isabella Tree’s pioneering work at the Knepp Estate in the UK as a leading example of rewilding success.
Our Dublin and Cork offices thoroughly enjoyed participating in these activities, fostering teamwork and a deeper understanding of sustainability principles.
