New Outpatient Unit Opens at Temple Street Children’s University Hospital
This much needed unit for neurology and renal patients was entirely funded by charitable donations. Speaking at the opening on the 23rd January 2018, Temple Street Ambassador Brian O’Driscoll said he was ‘thrilled to have been invited to celebrate this latest development for Temple Street – the opening of this beautiful unit’.
The project was extremely challenging given the congestion of the site, the live hospital environment and the location of the new development above the existing outpatient’s department. Colour has been used throughout the naturally lit interior with bright interactive play spaces sited adjacent to welcoming waiting areas. Animal motifs provided by artist Paula McGloin are used for identity and wayfinding and to provide coherence and vitality to the spaces throughout
