Donnacha Murphy runs the practice’s Cork ofﬁce.
Donnacha graduated from Dublin Institute of Technology in 2002 and is a member of the Royal Institute of Architects of Ireland since 2006. After graduation, Donnacha joined Carr, Cotter & Naessens Architects in Cork, where he gained experience in master planning and worked on a range of projects including the Solas Clinical Studies Building the Institute of Technology Tralee, and the Grainstore Ofﬁce Development, Limerick (which won an RIAI Award in 2007).
From 2004 to 2010 Donnacha worked with Murray O’Laoire Architects focusing on healthcare projects under the Murray O’Laoire/Brian O’Connell Architects partnership. Notably he led the new extension to the Bon Secours Hospital, Cork; a role he continued following his appointment as project architect in O’Connell Mahon Architects in 2010.
At O Connell Mahon Architects he has led a number of healthcare projects our of the Cork ofﬁce, including; Alterations to the Interim Medical Unit at Cork University Hospital, the Extension to the Operating Theatre Department at South Inﬁrmary Victoria Hospital, Cork, and the Emergency Department extension at Kerry General Hospital.
Donnacha also has experience in educational and commercial projects such as the Cork City Council Bishopstown Community Library and the mixed use development at Castlelake, Carrigtwohill, Co. Cork.
