Killarney Mental Health Residential Unit

The development was procured under a Design and Build contract with BAM Contractors for the HSE South. the exemplar design was developed and planning permission obtained for the project by Reddy Architects prior to O Connell Mahon Architects appointment

The building’s external aesthetic  is a contemporary expression of  the traditional rendered masonry walls and pitched slate roof. The 40 beds within the unit are accommodated  in four secure households arranged around internal landscaped gardens; giving a pleasant domestic scale which is  enhanced with warm wall colours and naturally lit circulation spaces.
